One of women habits aside from shopping is crossing their legs and sometimes it’s unconsciously done. Why do we cross our legs? to feel comfortable? to relax? to look sexy? or to have something to do while we’re bored or waiting?
…Anyway let’s just leave that question hanging because those are really one of the reasons why women cross their legs including me. But hey, we have to cross our legs especially if we are wearing shorts or skirts to look modest.
Varicose veins are present at the legs and it does not only look ugly, worst, it gives so much pain to the persons with it. Women are much prone to have this condition than men. Varicose veins are not that big deal unless you became conscious (you’ll be embarrass wearing shorts/skirts) and unless it hurts like hell and lead to other problems.
They say that crossing the legs restrict the blood circulation and destroy the vein walls which causes the veins to stop pumping the blood back and thus discoloration and the bumpy sight on legs appears.
The good news is that the top factor in varicose veins is genetics and it also has something to do with age, being overweight and pregnancy.
Does Crossing Legs Cause Varicose Veins?
So now let’s answer the question “Does crossing legs cause varicose veins?” Nah! there’s no any connection between the two. Crossing legs won’t give or develop varicose veins or worsen it if you have it already. Clearly, there is no study that has proven it. So hooray for our new information. So ladies, cross your legs up high 😉 it won’t hurt! Enjoy it because it makes us comfortable.
Tips to prevent varicose veins:
1. Put your leg up high while you are doing something, put your feet up on the wall, a 4 stacks of pillows or a higher chair to get that blood flowing.
2. Exercise. Let your body be strong and healthy to strengthen your circulatory system.
3. Avoid standing so long and avoid using sky high heels. It weakens the vein walls.
